Thich Nhat Hanh of Vietnam passed away January 22, 2022. The website of the International Plum Village Community of Engaged Buddhism announced that “Thich Nhat Hanh has passed away peacefully at Từ Hiếu Temple in Huế, Vietnam on 22nd January, 2022, at the age of 95.“.

Plum Village invites their global spiritual family to “take a few moments to be still, to come back to our mindful breathing, as we together hold Thay in our hearts in peace and loving gratitude for all he has offered the world.”

Thich Nhat Hanh’s entire life gives testimony of how compassionate engagement in matters concerning us all is possible. His voice is one of love and compassion. His attitude is one of listening, deep understanding and tolerance. His lifetime service is reminding us of the importance, and the true power, of peaceful, non-violent engagement in world affairs.
